The first day of the Central America Donors Forum (CADF) addressed corruption, the fight against impunity, economic development, youth, feminist movements and opportunities for partnerships in the public and private sectors.
The panels were presented by experts from INCAE, UNICEF, USAID, CONHONDUCAFE, the National Anti-Corruption Council (CNA), FOSDEH, The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Institute of Tourism, the Association for a More Just Society, Alterna Impact, Acción Joven Honduras, the Center for Women’s Rights, among other organizations. The attendees also went on site visits to the Historic Center of Tegucigalpa, a virtual tour of Tecnópolis and a reintegration program for returned migrant children.
CADF 2019 continues tomorrow and Friday with more than 30 conferences, panels and workshops that will address migration, democracy, rule of law, corruption and student, youth, feminist and environmental movements. In total 120 panelists and speakers will participate. Among the highlighted panels on Thursday are:

Entrance to the forum is by invitation only, but the press is provided credentials in order to participate in all the activities open to the attendees.
The forum is organized by the Seattle International Foundation (SIF) with the support of its local partners FUNDAHRSE and the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Cortes (CCIC), and sponsors such as Millicom/Tigo and Ford Foundation.
Among the members of the 2019 CADF Host Committee are Ricardo Maduro, former President of Honduras; Aline Flores, former President of the National Investment Council; Mauricio Ramos, CEO of Millicom; Pedro Barquero, Executive Director of CCIC; Fatima Mena, Governor of San Pedro Sula; and Norma Torres, United States Congresswoman.
CADF is held every year in a city in Central America and since its inception has become one of the principal multisectoral spaces to generate partnerships. Throughout the forum, proposals are drafted on how to boost development and create opportunities for more just, peaceful, equitable and prosperous societies in the region.
