Lariza Romero
Program Officer | Oficial de Programas

Lariza currently serves as a Program Officer for SIF's Central America and Mexico Youth Fund (CAMY Fund). Lariza most recently worked as a Project Officer with the Instituto de Liderazgo Simone de Beauvoir, where she accompanied indigenous and migrant women in Chiapas and Guerrero in social entrepreneurship projects and carried out research and advocacy around their economic, social, cultural and environmental rights. Prior to that, Lariza worked as a Program Coordinator for the Fundación Arcoiris por el Respeto a la Diversidad Sexual. She also founded and was the Editor of a print and on-line magazine called Frijolero for youth artists and social entrepreneurs.

Lariza has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mexico’s esteemed Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico and a Master’s degree in Disaster Management from the University of Copenhagen and Lund University. For her Master thesis she did a qualitative study on the psychosocial health of internally displaced persons in rural Guatemala.
