Emma Mahboub
Partnerships and Events Associate

Emma Mahboub currently serves as the Partnerships and Events Associate at Seattle International Foundation, where she assists in the coordination of SIF’s partnerships and local and international events. Previous to this position, Emma worked on an International Task Force with the University of Washington’s Center for Human Rights in El Salvador called “Unfinished Sentences/Oraciones Incompletas,” working to reunite Salvadoran families separated during the 1980’s civil war. She contributed to the first official publication of two civil war-era massacres in El Salvador and assisted in the production of four videos documenting the continued search of six survivors in hopes of reuniting more families.

Emma graduated from the University of Washington’s Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Minor in Spanish. Upon completion of her studies, which included studying abroad in Cusco, Peru, Emma spent two years living and working in Latin America. She taught English at two public schools in Chile through the Chilean Ministry of Education’s program, “Programa Ingl├ęs Abre Puertas,” and worked in various local organizations throughout Colombia, Guatemala and El Salvador. Born in West Seattle, Emma is fluent in Spanish with a passion for travel, foreign culture and music.
