The Seattle International Foundation invites you to travel to Guatemala to experience firsthand how strategic philanthropy to empower women and girls is changing thousands of lives and creating positive social change. Throughout the journey you will gain a unique understanding of the cultures, people and history of Guatemala. Through site visits and dialogue with government officials, NGO leaders, and journalists, travelers will learn how programs focused on women and girls are changing the current social, economic and political landscape.
Founded in 2008, SIF has a strategic focus on empowering women and girls in Central America, and has awarded more than $7 million in grants to organizations working for positive social change throughout the region.
When: Departing Seattle April 1, 2013, returning April 8, 2013
Cost: $2,250 plus airfare. This includes all meals, lodging, interpretation and local transportation.
