Seattle Nonprofits and Groupon’s G-Team Partner to
Support Women's Empowerment
Seattle, WA – The Seattle International Foundation (SIF) is launching a campaign in partnership with Jolkona and iLEAP: The Center for Critical Service, to promote and support global women’s leadership. The campaign will be kicked off with a Groupon G-Team (http://www.groupon.com/g-team) deal that will run from July 26-28.
Starting July 26th, Groupon Seattle’s G-Team will allow subscribers to join SIF and Jolkona in making an investment in women’s leadership by pledging support in increments of $10. For each $500 collected, Jolkona will fund one week of training for a woman leader to come to Seattle and participate in a 10-week fellowship program. The program will be implemented by iLEAP, an international nonprofit organization that builds capacity in a new generation of women grassroots leaders — creating positive change in their institutions and communities. Every donation will be matched by SIF, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.
The Seattle International Foundation is proud to partner with key Seattle-area nonprofits and businesses to raise funds and implement this unique women’s leadership program.
“This new way to give allows everyone to make a big impact with a small donation,” said Executive Director of SIF Mauricio Vivero. “Supporting women is one of the best ways to fight global poverty. Women grassroots leaders are on the frontlines tackling the toughest issues: hunger, violence, access to healthcare and education. By supporting their work as leaders, we can help them have greater impact and improve the lives of thousands in local communities.”
G-Team is a community outreach initiative within Groupon that brings communities together to make an impact. G-Team has been working in Seattle to help mission-driven organizations, like Jolkona, to raise money and awareness, channeling the collective buying power of Groupon followers and local supporters.
