focused on leadership and advocacy training for women and youth

SIF awarded a grant of $24,000 to Asociación Mujeres Transformando (MT) to provide leadership training to 50 women with the specific goal of utilizing El Salvador’s new Transparency and Public Access to Information Law, Municipal Codes, and the Youth Protection Law to influence local government funding decisions and promote increased investment in programs serving women and youth.

Support for this project includes two public awareness campaigns around violence prevention with a focus on gender-based violence, and three radio forums around civic and political participation of youth.
$30,000 was awarded to Fundación Nacional para el Desarrollo El Salvador (FUNDE), a nonprofit organization based in San Salvador. FUNDE’s mission is to influence the formation of effective and sustainable public policies related to poverty alleviation in Central America through research, education, training, and advocacy.
