Seattle International Foundation Announces Call for Applications Under its 2011 Global Program

The Seattle International Foundation is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications under our Global Program. The Global Program (small grants for local organizations) supports and fosters local organizations working internationally. SIF is interested in development projects in all regions of the world. Preference will be given to organizations based in the greater Puget Sound region and organizations based outside of Washington State are not eligible. Please review our 20082009, and 2010 grantee portfolios for more information on past grantees.

The Global Program is open to 501(c)3 organizations, or those with fiscal sponsorship, with an annual organizational or project budget of less than $2 million (USD). The program seeks to support organizations launching new projects, or working to establish or expand an international project or program. Organizations may request general operating support or project support, and generally the maximum grant award is $15,000. Please read more about our Global Program here. If you would like to find out more about our Central America Program, click here.

To submit an application, create a user name and sign in to our new online application system by clicking here. Applications must be submitted by May 2, 2011.

If your organization applied previously and was not awarded a grant, you are eligible to reapply. If your organization was awarded a grant during Round 2 of SIF's 2010 Global Program, your organization is not eligible to apply at this time.

The Seattle International Foundation is a supporting organization of The Seattle Foundation and exists to promote global giving in Seattle and to invest in initiatives for global development. In 2010, the Seattle International Foundation awarded over $1.8 million in grants to 38 organizations (23 based in the Pacific Northwest) working in over 20 countries.
